5 Biting your fingernails

As one of the body language habits to avoid, this is a very bad habit that can be read as a sign of nervousness which it is. Nail-biting may help you get relief from tension but it reveals your feelings and state of mind. It can also distract a person who is speaking to you and that action of yours may be repulsive to them. It could also damage your nails and since everyone judges others by physical appearance, you will create a bad impression.

6 Not enough or too much eye contact

When you avoid eye contact with a person while speaking, it is a sign of insincerity and could read as if you have something to hide. It is also a sign of poor self-confidence or that you don’t like the person you are speaking to. By staring at a person with whom you are conversing it can also appear very aggressive or too intense making the other person uncomfortable. Instead, you need to go for a series of long glances.

7 Appearing distracted

This is one of the body language habits to avoid. It is very rude to get distracted when someone is speaking to you. Sometimes you may not even realize that you are doing this and even though you may be paying attention, you keep staring into space which makes others feel you aren’t paying attention to them. You need to show that you are actively paying attention to the other person so that they can see that you respect them and are completely engaged in what they have to say.
