Todorov asked students to make an assessment of a variety of composite portraits. The assumptions thereof were that those with childlike features, round faces and big eyes were regarded as naïve, fragile, obedient, kind and sincere whereas those with ugly asymmetrical and gloomy faces were connected with an unfriendly personality.
