6Why humans can’t see UV light

The reason why we can’t see UV light is that it doesn’t reach the retina. Earlier it was assumed that animals have the same type of retinas than humans but it so happens that they don’t. The conclusion was reached when scientists studied the lenses of several dead animals that included cats, dogs, monkeys, hedgehogs, ferrets, and pandas. It was found that even insects like bees, bird’s fish, and butterflies have UV vision. So what are these animals seeing?

This is the big question which would have yielded a definite answer if our furry friends could talk. There are many people who feel that Cats and dogs are more tuned into the spiritual world than humans. Take for example cats whose brains produce more DMT or dimethyltryptamine.

DMT is released in small amounts by the pineal gland in humans when dreaming. It is also assumed to be released seconds before death which is why those with near-death experiences have revealed that they see a bright light as if it is the gateway to the afterlife.

9Cats are tuned into everything surrounding them

Cats having large amounts of DMT in their brains give way to the possibility that they are always in a dream-like state. Hence this is what helps them remain tuned into everything around us more than what we can see. We don’t usually see more than we can because of the fact that the human consciousness is always focused on a specific reality and time. While this is speculation by some scientists, the same cannot be said for dogs. So is this why witches of ancient times prefer cats?

10We can learn much from dogs and cats

Coming back to dogs, innumerous studies have been done on the senses of dogs and we humans can learn much from our furry friends. Dogs are easy to train and these natural abilities make it easier for them to detect a seizure or even cancer and other illnesses in the body. Bees use UV light to guide them to nectar while reindeer use it to spot polar bears.
