5The best thing that could have happened to them

Patty 49 had her last pregnancy 20 years ago but Kayla and Cody had waited a long time for a suitable candidate. This was the best thing that could have happened to them. Kayla felt glad that her mom in law was her surrogate because she felt relieved it was someone whom she could trust. Cody felt it was really special that she will be carrying her grand-baby.

6The transfer took place in Dallas

The procedure of transferring the fertilized egg into Patti’s womb will took place at a Dallas clinic and it took at least 10 days to know if the process was a success. The couple was excited and waited patiently in hopes for the good news. For Kayla, her primary focus was Patti’s health. She said at the time “My biggest concern is to make sure not only is the baby healthy, but my mother-in-law stays healthy, too.”
