Former boxer Jake LaMotta had once got frustrated and famously ripped off the gems and jewels from his title belt, and then went on to smash the belt. He wanted to pawn off the jewels but was told that the singular jewels had no value, but if they were attached to the belt, it could be sold off as a priceless item. LaMotta’s ordeals were so famous, that Martin Scorsese made the film Raging Bull, based on his life. LaMotta passed away in 2017 at the age of 95.
