9 He started working as a Model

Like so many actors such as Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Lawrence, Jason Momoa first started working as a model in Hawaii. That is also how he won the Hawaiian Model of the year in 1999. He also hosted the Miss Teen Hawaii show when he was just 19.

10 He acted in Baywatch Hawaii

Just after his modeling career got off to a good start, Momoa was scouted for Baywatch Hawaii and acted in the show for three years. As a model and a guy working in a surfing shop, that was the perfect role for him at the time.

11 Momoa asked his friend to break his nose

Momoa intentionally altered his face a second time before he started acting in Conan the Barbarian in 2011. This wasn’t any cosmetic surgery but a ghastly request he made to his friend. It was alleged that Momoa wanted to resemble the character perfectly which would have been better if he had a broken nose. He then asked his friend to punch him on the nose which the guy did. The punch broke Momoa’s nose instantly. The look has definitely gone in favor of him getting the role as Khal Drago because you can’t really see him in the role looking like a pretty boy.

12 It was alleged that he performed the Maori Haka during his Game of Thrones Audition

Jason Momoa can also be seen in a video for UFC fighter Mark Hunt in Queensland where he performs the Maori Haka, a tribal dance popularly seen before All Blacks rugby match. It was also alleged that Momoa performed the famous New Zealand tribal dance during his audition for Game of Thrones. So, that’s the young Jason Momoa for you. In fact, in case you didn’t know he is married to Lisa Bonet and has two wonderful kids a son named Nakoa –Wolf and a daughter named Lola Lolani. He is also stepfather to American singer Zoe Kravitz.
