Remember Mad Men star January Jones? We don't blame you if you don't. She has done films, shows and most of them have been blockbusters. She has been in some of the most successful franchises and yet has no standing as an actor. She’s fierce talented and versatile and yet isn’t exactly an A-lister and has no real connect.

It's not that people don't like her. She has been applauded for her acting chops and her choice of roles and is perhaps one of the hottest 40-year-old actresses in the industry. Why then hasn't she been in any successful ventures in the last two years? Why did Hollywood drop her?

1January is almost iconic

After her stint in Mad Men, women and men both began looking upto her. She played one of televisions fiercest characters, that too in a male-dominated cast. She was also a recurring character and is now basically jobless which is very surprising.

2The perfect suburban feminist

January's stint as Betty Draper in Mad Men had been unanimously applauded. Nobody could play the suburban housewife and yet be so significant and relevant except January. Many people even said that January was one of the best characters on the show.

3Does she have an icy reputation?

Journalists have often claimed that January is cold and aloof. Reports had emerged that January doesn't really make an effort to cooperate with paparazzi or even say yes to features.

What's sad is that January is gorgeous and is perhaps the most convincing flag-bearer of the '40 is the new 30' trend. And her despite having such a unique look, January has failed to acquire substantial success.

January welcomed her first child a few years ago but her fans have been kept away from her kid. In fact January makes an effort to never speak or even be pictured with her child. And while the issue of privacy is totally January's call, fans have been miffed at being kept away from such an important part of her life.
