Christopher Lee tried very hard to gain active duty in the army. After clearing all test for a stint in the RAF, his first solo flight ended in disaster because he suffered a vision failure and was diagnosed with problems of the optical nerve. That ended his flying career before it began but Lee persisted until he was made an intelligence officer in the RAF.

Lee saw active intelligence duty during the second world WarII and was shifted several times throughout Egypt and Italy where he was attached to the SAS and helped in reconnaissance and provide details for planned assaults and invasions including the battle of Monte Cassino in 1944 where he spent most of his time with the 8th Indian Gorkha infantry division. He spoke fluent German and was also instrumental in tracking down German war criminals.

Among the first jobs celebrities worked in, Johnny Depp recalled the times he worked as a telemarketer and hated his job. Who wouldn’t? The worst part of his job was that he sold pens and was made to adopt fictitious names to attract people. Here is what he had to say, “You promise them all these things if they buy a gross of pens. It was just awful. But I actually think that was the first experience I had with acting.''. However it struck his conscience a lot and after making just one sale, he asked the customer to back out of the deal.
