Brinson is doing much better now and is even back to playing basketball. La’Kisha’s husband, Brian Wells, said, “It gets hard some days to think about the past, but to see where he is at now, it gives you a little more excitement for him.”

It took a lot of care and love from his family, friends, and the people who worked at TIRR Memorial Hermann to help him get back to everyday life. Wells said, “We taught him how to brush his teeth, how to take a bath, how to eat. I’m a teacher, so I began to teach him fourth-grade work, teach him how to comprehend what he reads again and comprehend math.”
Even though he missed a whole year of school, he is still on track to finish high school on time because he took extra classes before the crash.

She wants everyone to always believe in God’s power, no matter what people say. Even though She had been continually told that her son would never be able to walk or talk again properly, she kept believing that God would make it happen.
She wrote on Facebook, “Every mother, every Father, every person. It does NOT matter what man says, all you need to know is what GOD says. For he has the final Say. I pray his story ministers hope to your souls.”
