This was the time when she remembered a story written by a father from Texas whose son passed away as he was not treated medically after he inhaled pool water. The scene of Elianna’s accident was getting played again and again in the mind of Lacey and she was pretty determined to not let this happen with her daughter.

They took Elianna to the urgent care hoping that everything would be fine but after 10 minutes, the doctor told them to take her to the nearest ER as soon as possible because her oxygen was very low, heart rate was freaking high and the body was turning purple which clearly indicated that there was a chemical infection.

The nearest ER conducted a chest X-ray and it confirmed that infection and inflammation had been caused due to chemicals in the pool water. After two hours, Elianna was taken to a bigger hospital by an ambulance so that she could be monitored around the clock and the pediatrics would also be able to keep an eye on her.

The little girl was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia, chemical pneumonitis and perihilar edema. She was kept on oxygen and when doctors tried to give her a chance to breathe on her own, there was a drop in her levels. The second dose of antibiotic was given to her; however, not much relief was there. She was suffering from fever even then and the only good thing that had happened was that her heart rate had lowered.

Elianna was in hospital for four days before being sent to home, almost after one week of the dry drowning incident. Grace is very thankful to the person who wrote his son’s story because it was that post only because of which she took her daughter to hospital. She has also written in the post that she will definitely write a letter to the father of the boy.
