One patient, a woman only known as ‘A.B.,’ continues to baffle doctors throughout the world. This woman was diagnosed with a brain tumor after hearing voices in her head tell her she had one. The woman claims that the voice also returned after her surgery and told her, “we are pleased to have helped you, goodbye.”

A.B. was born in Europe in the 1940s and relocated to the U.K. roughly two decades later. She married and had a family there, leading a normal and healthy life until 1984. From this year onwards, she began hearing the voices in her head that would ultimately save her life.

One night in the winter of 1984, as A.B. was reading, she heard a voice in her head that sounded nothing like her own. The voice gave her was an audible warning by saying: “Please don’t be afraid. I know it must be shocking for you to hear me speaking to you like this, but this is the easiest way I could think of. My friend and I used to work at the Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street, and we would like to help you.”

A.B.’s doctor recommended seeking medical treatment at a mental facility since she was clearly affected by the encounter. After a few weeks, A.B. decided to take a relaxing vacation because the voices hadn’t returned. However, the voices weren’t done talking to her.

3The voices spoke to her once again while she was out of the country.

The voices also told her to get a brain scan since she had a brain tumor and an inflamed brain stem. She and the hospital staff were skeptical at first because she showed no signs of any symptoms.
