Fortunately for her, a man noticed her predicament and offers his shoulder for her to lean on despite knowing his own time would be affected. Another participant joined in from the other side and together they propped her up so that she could take a few steps more. Yet she still found it difficult.
It was both amusing and heartening then to see one man carry the woman in his arms just upto the finish line so she could take those few steps across it herself. Several runners passed them, yet those helping seemed unfazed as they knew it was the right thing to do. They were indeed displaying sportsman ship no doubt, but above all they were displaying what is lacking in the world today, humanity.
