1 A social activist associated with historical personalities
Tao Porchon Lynch discovered Yoga when she was just 8 years old. Born to a Manipur mother and French father, Tao had the privilege of learning yoga with one of the most revered of holy men in India, Sri Aurobindo. Tao has had an interesting life associated with several eminent personalities. As an activist she has marched with Mahatma Gandhi and also taken part in demonstrations with Charles De Gaulle and Martin Luther King.

2 Discovered Yoga in 1926
As the world’s oldest yoga teacher, Tao Porchon lynch was amused when she first discovered it in 1926. She recalled “I thought it was a game, I saw a group of boys on the beach making beautiful shapes. When I told my aunt, she said: ‘That’s yoga. It’s unladylike.’ I said: ‘If boys can do it, so can I.'”
