Meet the Twins Born A Year Apart After Mom Goes Into Premature Labor

Sometimes life creates an unexpected twist in where quite a number of people in the world undergo the weirdest experiences. Blame it on evolution, physiology or hormonal imbalances, but there’s no stopping the bizarre now and then which is exactly what happened to Maria Ontiveros a farm laborer from Earlimart California who gave birth to a set of twins. But! These weren’t just ordinary twins because they were born a year apart. It is even more extraordinary than the case of the Irish twins Amy and Katie who were born 87 days apart. These twins were born a year apart simply because of the weird timing.

1Born a day, month and a year apart

Maria went into premature labor on Dec 31st, New Year’s Eve at 7 pm. Her first son Joaquin was born at 11.58 pm. But! As coincidence would have it, his twin sister was born, yes you may have guessed it just some minutes later at 12.16 am, so now that makes her birth year 2018.  It was fantastic timing that has even won the couple $3000 worth of baby supplies.

2Twins can be fun especially for the twins themselves

Being twins can be fun. If you have seen movies like harry potter, the twins Fred and George looked identical and were played by identical twins Brit actors Oliver and James Phelps. The only disadvantage which may be a relief to Parents is that you get just one birthday celebration in the family. So it’s a shared thing like cake and the festivities but it isn’t a bad thing really if you look at it. Being twins can be loads of fun too.

3One born in 2017, the other in 2018

The twins were born just twenty minutes apart but the calendar will note it as a year apart. While Joaquin was born weighing 5 Lbs 9 Oz at 11.58 pm on Dec 31st, 2017, his sister Aitana was born weighing 4 lbs 10.8oz at 12.16 am on January 1st, 2018. Well strictly speaking Aitana can easily demand a separate birthday for herself after all she was born in the following year.

4Born on either side of midnight

Both babies were born on two sides of midnight at the Delano regional medical center in California. The twins were actually born premature and were not due until January 27th, 2018. But it seemed fate had something else in store for them and their proud parents, Joaquin and Maria Ontiveros.  Though 20 minutes apart, it’s also a gap of a day, month and a year. That will give them something to boast about when older.

Although they share the same genes, they will in reality not be sharing the same birthday being born a year apart.
