Lucrative livelihood opportunities mostly make people leave their native towns and villages. This has been happening to not only Albinen, but many other places in various countries since time immemorial, but even in this chaotic migration of sorts, some people choose to stay close to nature. Being able to start the day with a stunning sunrise and breathing the fresh mountain air overlooking the breathtaking alpine views of a valley can be someone’s idea of a perfect life. And if you think that this vision resonates with the path of life that you want to tread on, then this opportunity is indeed a ‘Golden’ one.
According to the Mayor, there are not many jobs in Albenin, but there are larger towns of Visp and Sion only half an hour drive away. He says that if people start coming up, the school also might reopen.
Apart from the pristine views and other elements of nature, you can even head to the thermal resort of Leukerbad, which is only 6 kilometers away from the town to have the occasional outings that we all need from time-to-time.

The newsletter which gave out the information about this motion was published on the official website of the village. According to the newsletter, the move is an investment in the future of the village. The authorities believe that the new community of people will be able to help the economy of the village through construction contracts, taxes and purchases made from the village shop. And the young people will inject life into the village, which as of now looks very quiet.
