Steve Irwin was born to Bob and Lyn, who owned and operated a wildlife park in Queensland, Australia. He grew up surrounded by animals, and what he later did in his life is known to the world. He ran a zoo in Australia and carried conservation efforts for the endangered animals apart from being the face of Animal Planet throughout the run of the show, ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ from 1996 to 2007. The Irwin family has been carrying forward everything that Steve did for the animals.

Both the kids have grown up showing their commitment towards the family business and have even been on Television shows. Bindi had taken part in the show “Dancing With the Stars” in 2015 and had even won the competition. While, Robert, on the other hand, has appeared on the “Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, where he showed his love for animals just like his dad.

Bringing the Irwin family back on Animal Planet is part of the network’s refocusing on animals. Since a few years, the channel had sort of drifted their focus from animals and had even adopted the tagline, ‘Surprisingly Human.’

As for the Irwin family, they are working on everything that Steve had started. Terri says that she has tried to channel the competitiveness that they had a couple so as to complete the milestones of a 10-year business plan that she had written with Steve before his untimely death. They have also taken up projects that weren’t in the pipeline when Steve was alive, like making accommodations for camping at their zoo.

Terri says that for them, conservation work isn't just what they do. It's who they are. She added, “It's really defined us that this is what we've dedicated our lives to.”

Talking about the grief of not having Steve around, Terri says that grief is never something you get over. She said, “It's something that walks beside you every day. And if you can learn how to manage it and honor the person that you miss, you can take something that is incredibly sad and have some form of positivity. That's kind of what we decided to do with Steve.
