When Metheny ran out of meat, he simply went about killing more people to mince them into burger patties.  He confessed to killing 10 people although authorities believe the figure could have been much more. He would have continued this macabre and bizarre practice had he not been caught one day.

11The law finally caught up with him

Finally one day, Metheny’s luck ran out when one of his victims, a woman Rita Kemper escaped and reported him to the police. Metheny was tracked down and arrested in 1996. He did not resist his arrest and went silently with the cops. Metheny was tried and found guilty with a death sentence that was then overturned in 2000. He was given two life sentences instead.

When Metheny was interrogated he confessed willingly his gruesome exploits in detail. One wonders the condition of the interrogating officers when hearing such sordid details of forced cannibalism. Metheny gave accurate details even confessing to the first three killing of which he was acquitted years ago. Metheny showed not a hint of remorse at what he had done. He was nothing but a cold-blooded killer who killed and did what he did, just the way you and me went about our daily routine every day.

Metheny said “The only thing I feel bad about in any of this, is I didn’t get to murder the 2 xxxxfxxxkrs I was really after,” he said. “And that’s my ex-ole lady and the bastard she got hooked up with.”
