A study revealed that the Ganga is now the second most polluted river in the world. While China’s Yangtze tops the list, the Ganga is responsible for 115, 000 tonnes of plastic waste spewed into the world’s oceans. However, it must be noted that various state governments have started the “Clean Ganga Campaign” with technological help from countries like Belgium.
