The cold conditions have become so severe in North America that it has smashed many records. At many places, the records are being broken for the coldest temperature ever recorded. The conditions are such that Montreal was colder than North Pole last week. Montreal recorded minimum temperature of -23 degrees Celsius which is actually colder than Mars. And, if the forecasts are to be believed, the cold conditions will exacerbate further in the coming days. The situation is so bad that temperatures in northeastern part of the United States recorded at -37 degrees Celsius. Some parts of Canada were even colder than that.

As per reports, sharks are also dying because of freezing cold. Bodies of two sharks were washed ashore of Cape Cod Bay on Saturday. As per the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, the sharks were likely “stranded on the shore due to cold shock” and died. “These sharks were most likely moving to the south with the warmer water and got caught in the hook of Cape Cod,” the conservancy said.

The cold conditions have reached such level that the mighty Niagara Falls have frozen solid. Visitors are motivating themselves to brave the testing conditions just for the sake of taking snap of the beautifully frozen Niagara Falls. The outdoor New Year’s Eve festivities were cancelled in Ontario due to extreme cold weather warnings. Clearly, the temperatures across North America is beyond what is called normal. Canadians are somewhat prepared for the extreme conditions but people living in South Carolina are surely not. They had to suffer freezing rain event which closed down the bridges which were later de-iced.
