People would rather judge another person at first glance than try to understand their circumstances nowadays. Even the most attractive people in the world would be subjected to criticism, ridicule, and snide remarks from others. Despite this grim reality, some people use social media to inspire, educate, and spread joy. People like this new Mom know how to face such odds and be examples of good, compassionate, and caring people. Savannah Combs, who was overjoyed when she became a mother on May 12, 2021, was least expecting her twin infants to be diagnosed with such a rare condition. The babies named Kennadi and Mnkenli are not your average twins because both have been diagnosed with Mosaic Down Syndrome.

She had no idea that her babies were going to be so rare. Her twins named Mckenli and Kennadi Ackerman were not only a rare type of twins but also had a rare medical condition called Mosaics Down Syndrome. Dr. Pamela Trapane, medical director of Wolfson Children’s Hospital’s Duran Genetics Center in Jacksonville, Florida, says the chances of that happening are “exceedingly rare.”

A pregnancy resulting in twins is uncommon enough, but the chance that both twins get this rare condition is extremely uncommon

Approximately two out of every 1,000 pregnancies result in a child with Down syndrome, according to Trapane’s estimate. There’s a 1 to 5 million chance that a pregnancy will result in twins, and those twins will have Down Syndrome.

Combs already knew that her daughters were exceptional before she gave birth. Both Kennadi and Mckenli were Mono/Di twins. These types of twins are extremely rare, and both babies had their individual sacks inside her womb, yet they shared the same placenta. However, there was yet another twist to these twins’ story.
