It seems that there is no strict demarcation between the genders in the present times. Both the genders are doing things which characteristically belonged to other gender. People from both the genders are also breaking stereotypes more often than not. Now, you can easily see that there are woman who are also sporting beards. If we look at the history, we will find that women used to wipe out their facial hairs. People would not approve facial hairs on female as did not look good on them.

When you see women with facial hairs, it looks as awkward as seeing a man with breasts. But some hormonal imbalances have forced some women to have beard. The biological quirk have thrown them in a position to have beard.  Some of them are busy shaving them to sport traditional look of a woman. While, there are also some women who do not want change what is natural to them. These women are embracing their facial hairs and they are not apologetic about it. The beard on women are result of polycystic ovary syndrome.

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a case where there is hormonal imbalance in women. As per estimates, the polycystic ovary syndrome affects 5 to 10 per cent of women and girls. This hormonal imbalance cause a lot of other problems as well. The problems include irregular periods, weight gain, acne, and excess facial and body hair.

2Some women are unapologetic about their facial hairs or beards

There are some women who are unapologetic about them having beards. Rose Geil is one of them who is having beards and she opens up about it. “I definitely feel feminine since I’ve grown my beard and it has very little to do with physical appearance it’s all about my attitude giving myself the freedom to be exactly who I am, because of that I definitely feel womanly, I feel sexy,” Rose said.
