Jackie Chan’s Daughter Says She Is Homeless and Even Had to Sleep under a Bridge

As far as every fan of Jackie Chan is concerned, the popular action star is a family man. With over 130 movies tucked in his belt, Jackie Chan was also honored last year with a lifetime achievement award but it seems there is a skeleton in the actor’s closet. In fact, it seems that the actor’s career hides more than he would like his fans to know.

1Jackie Chan’s daughter is now 19

The biggest truth that Chan never really tried to hide was his illicit affair with Chinese beauty queen Elaine Ng in 1998. The couple even had daughter together named Etta Ng Chok Lam in 199. But rather than grow up as a celebrity daughter, Etta is turning out to be a thorn in Chan’s side. The girl, all of 19 claims Chan has left her homeless. That’s right! Jackie Chan’s daughter is homeless.

2Chan was married at the time of his affair

At the time of his affair, Chan was married to Joan Lin an actress from Taiwan. In fact, he had been married to her for 18 years which meant by having an affair he was risking his career and reputation as an icon of cinema and a family actor.

3Chan never tried hushing up his affair

Instead of hushing up his affair with money as actors are prone to do, Chan chose to go with the flow and accept whatever fate had in store for him. When Elain was pregnant in 1999, there was huge speculation that Chan was indeed the father but it took Chan almost four years to acknowledge the child. Chan admitted in an interview during the time he was shooting for “Around The World In Eighty Days” that he had “failed his daughter”

4He blamed Elaine for his estrangement from his daughter

Jackie Chan hinted that the reason for being estranged from Etta was her mother. He said “since her mother is that kind of a person, I don’t know how to treat [my daughter]” Incidentally Elaine is 19 years junior to Chan.
