The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is actually a seed bank and a storage facility in Splitsbergen in Norway. The vault, which has been made almost 400 feet into the mountain-side is situated 800 miles away from the North Pole. The place officially opened in 2008, but only a few select employees are allowed in this secured seed vault. The facility, which has a highly advanced security system, stores almost 840,000 samples of around 4000 species of seeds given by the various countries of the world. This seed vault was made so that seeds could be retrieved and revived in the event of a global environmental disaster.

The area about which the world wants to know, but cannot is the Area 51, located in Nevada, USA. This is a classified detachment of the US Air Force facility, Edwards Air Force Base and the reason why this place is shrouded in mystery is that the exact purpose of Area 51 has never been told to the public. This has lead to various conspiracy theories over the years, which say that the US government uses this location to store and examine aliens and their spacecraft. Although the regions surrounding this facility are frequented by tourists and are quite popular, Area 51 is totally off limits. In fact, even the airspace above Area 51 is a no-fly zone.

5Ise Grand Shrine, Japan

Located in the Uji-tachi town of Japan, the Ise Grand Shrine is a complex which has been dedicated to the Amaterasu-omikami Goddess. The entire complex has 125 secondary and two main shrines. The normal public can only go till the gates of the Shrine from where nothing much is visible. The access to the Ise Grand Shrine is restricted to only the high priest or priestess, who is a member of the Imperial Family of Japan.
