Nicotine is a blood vessel constrictor as has been proven by medical studies. In the University of Texas, researchers had 2 different experimental groups formed of non-smoking men, one was given a chewing gum laced with nicotine and the others were given placebo gum. There was 23% reduction in physical arousal in the nicotine group as compared to the placebo group.

6Know what's good for the arteries

Keep your arteries clean, as it’s a vascular organ flowing blood all across the body as well to your penile region. If dietary cholesterol or saturated fat clogs arteries, it would also reduce the normal blood flow to the male reproductive organ. So everyman above 38 must watch what they eat as narrowing of arteries begins pretty much from that age itself. High cholesterol-laden food is the single biggest cause for ED as it affects erectile tissues according to Irwin Goldstein M.D.

7Lose weight

Overweight men may have a difficulty in maintaining an erection, as harsh it may sound but it’s a fact. Even if you are 20% heavier than what you are supposed to be, you must try to lose weight as it would reduce the risk of ED. A fitter body oozes more confidence in bed but while you may consider weight training and karate or kick boxing, don’t overdo the cycling bit.

8Don't overdo bike riding

Now, this is a bit of contradiction but it has its logic. Riding a bicycle seems to be the best health exercise to make you lean and mean but sometimes the result is quite the opposite. Riding a bike puts excessive pressure between your legs where the nerve vessels flow to your organ. So get off your seat often or ride on a wide seat with no nose. The idea is NOT to get numb on the penile area which would make you lose all ability for an erection later.
