Everyone dreads getting older and the biggest fear is grey hair and horrid wrinkles. Since our body changes with time and age, our metabolism slows down as well. Our bones and muscles become weaker and more fragile. Although the age-old conception is that there is no escape from wrinkles, modern science and healthy living has proved this wrong.
1Why do wrinkles come anyway?

As we age, our skin slowly loses internal moistures and dries easily. Production of collagen and elastin (responsible for skin health) is reduced which results in wrinkles or sagging skin. Without such items and moisture, your skin loses its ability to remain supple and functional. Now dry skin cannot produce moisture fast enough or replace worn out skin cells. Neither can they produce sufficient elastin and collagen which gives flexibility and strength to the skin. This results in wrinkles forming visibly on the neck and face.

2Where do wrinkles attack first?

Wrinkles tend to originate first under your eyes as the skin over there is the thinnest. But that’s not the only reason we develop wrinkles. An unhealthy or poor diet, poor sleeping habits, excessive sugar intake and unhealthy consumption of drinks and smoking are all culprits that contribute to wrinkles. But you can fight back and regain your radiant look.

Now, hold your horses!! Eating chocolate here means dark chocolate with little or no sugar in it. So drop your idea of gorging on your favourite chocolate bars which are full of sugar and calories. Cocoa beans usually contain 2 important chemicals namely catechin and epicatechin, that protects our skin against harmful UV rays and sun damage.
