It’s finally out. All those rumors and presumptions or hints you may have seen about the Rock for president is apparently an even bigger probability than before when you hear the comments that Dwayne Johnson has made on the issue of the presidency 2020.
When Trump became president, there were many people holding their heads in hands including celebrities who went on to recommend their favorites to run for office in 2020. Many in fact questioned how this 71-year-old businessman could possess the qualifications of becoming a leader of the USA. But!! America had voted and Trump was president.

It was then that several recommendations both by people and also self-proposed that did the rounds of the internet. We heard names from Kanye West to Ben Affleck and then, of course, there was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson giving subtle hints.
Kanye West, of course, isn’t to be taken seriously. The Man who asked Zuckerberg to pay him a Billion dollars for is ideas when actually he was broke. In the same light, he also declared himself an eligible candidate for the presidency. It was then that the Rock dropped a subtle hint, The Rock for President!!

The Rock 45 had commented this in an interview to Moviefone. People thought he was just joking although several tabloids picked up the cue to churn out dozens of articles on the internet saying that Johnson plans to run for the presidency in 2020. 3 The latest Graham Norton show

Last week the pro wrestling star turned actor appeared on the Graham Norton show and seems to have reaffirmed his interest in running for president. He is eligible of course since the US already has had one Hollywood actor in office which was Ronald Reagan. Schwarzenegger became the Governor of California, so why not Dwayne Johnson for President.
Johnson was on the show to promote Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. And it was obvious that Norton would not help asking him about his interest to sit in the Oval Office and his intentions for the 2020 presidential race.

Johnson then explained that it was very flattering that his fans were contemplating seriously for him as president in 2020. “It’s been very flattering, right, that there’s been this really interesting uptick in public opinion wanting that to happen, but the problem is, this guy to my right [pointing to his Jumanji co-star Kevin Hart will completely sabotage the campaign.”

6 Johnson’s earlier comment on the presidency seemed a serious one

Hart, of course, turned the whole comment into a joke laughing and exclaiming that he would take Johnson down “I don’t want it to happen because it would make you that much better than me, and I just don’t want that to happen.”
Many of those present in the audience even voiced their support which shows how this could actually become a probability, you never know. And, to voice Johnson’s views on the subject on a more serious note, he was reported to have said “It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible;” This past election shows that anything can happen.”
That quite clearly reflected the post-election mood. If Trump could be elected why not Johnson.

7 The Instagram comment

Fans recall on Instagram how Johnson commented: “the idea of one day becoming President to create real positive impact and global change is very alluring.”
If he did run for the presidency in 2020, the biggest question would be his choice of party. Would he be a Republican or Democrat. He was seen speaking at the Republican National Convention in 2000. He is also a registered Republican voter but if he does run as a Republican, he would be up against Trump. That would certainly be an interesting fight with an even more interesting outcome.
Whenever the presidency issue is brought up, The Rock does show a somber look that hints a lot about his frame of mind. It isn’t subject he really wants to joke about and given the support from fans and a section form Hollywood. The Rock for President??? It may very well happen.
