Most often, a lump under the lower eyelid is considered to be a stye. But if the swelling does not subside, it could indicate a rare form of cancer. Sebaceous gland carcinomas look like a stye, but can last on the same spot for months together.

When the whites of your eyes look pink or red constantly, it could mean that something is irritating them. It could signal an onset of allergies. You could be allergic to pollen, wheat, plant, mould or other chemicals. It becomes important to keep a record of the things you are allergic to, making it easier for the allergen to be found. This helps in a proper diagnosis and subsequent recovery.
