Julie says she was overwhelmed at the sight of her burnt down home. “I was a little overwhelmed with seeing some of the rubble of my life… along with horrible air quality”
However, Don continued the search for the wedding ring which he actually found along with their grandmother’s teacup. It was in the fireproof safe after all but the safe had literally become an oven for the belongings inside. That was when Don did the Unexpected. He got down on one knee and proposed to Julie. The couple didn’t just find their wedding ring in the ashes but actually rekindled their love amidst the conflagration. “When I returned, Don popped down on one knee, re-proposing; as our 5th son, Corey photographed us."

Many were moved by their story because there was a couple totally devastated by the fire losing all their belongings but yet they managed to rise out of the ashes.
