The man with the world’s largest Brain tumor was successfully operated upon with the brain tumor removal surgery lasting a good seven hours. The incident that happened in India was a testing one for doctors who described the brain so large it looked like a second head.

The tumor was described as the largest in the world by doctor Trimurti Nadkarni, the surgeon in charge of the operation who said it weighed 1.873 kgs. The tumor was removed from a 31-year-old man.

The mammoth task of removing the world’s largest brain tumor took place at the BYL Nair charitable hospital in Mumbai on February 14th where Doctor Nadkarni laid claim to the world’s largest brain tumor based on comparative studies of such incidents around the world.

Nadkarni also added that the surgery was tricky and life-threatening for the patient Santlal pal a cloth merchant from UP, India. The tumor was embedded firmly in Pal’s brain but doctors took seven long hours to finally get it out. Only when the man was stable in recovery did the doctors make the news public.

Santlal Pal is a 31-year-old cloth merchant who ran a shop in a village in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India. The man traveled the Interstate journey just so he could get the surgery done. The swelling in the past 6 months had increases and the brain tumor was turning into an unbearable mass almost the size of his head. It also measured 30cm by 30 cm according to Dr. Nadkarni.
