The Mutter Museum in Philadelphia contains documented evidence of some of the most bizarre and weirdest medical anomalies on earth. It also contains wax models, pathological and anatomical specimens that are on display to help people understand more about the disease and the human body. The Museum showcases the human history of anatomy and medicine form the 7th century to resent date. The museum also releases books that show photographs of weird medical cases that you won’t believe could ever exist. Here are 15 of them.

1 Chinese Fingernails

Chinese aristocrats would grow their fingernails as a symbol of social standing and some were to excessive lengths. Women were also habituated in crushing their toes to make their feet smaller as a sign of fashion.

2The Giant skeleton

The giant skeleton is that of John Aasen who lived in the late nineteenth century (1890-1938). He was a circus freak with a height of 7 feet 1”. He was often chosen for side roles in Hollywood movies.

3The Triple Amputee

This thirty-two man’s arms and legs were crushed by a railroad car. He had all three; limbs amputated which turned out to be the second time a triple amputation was successful in the US.

4Widow Sunday

Madame Dimanche also known as Widow Sunday was famous for her nine inch horn protruding from her head as you can see from the wax model of her profile. The horn measured 9.8 inches and was ultimately removed by a French surgeon.

5Deformed feet

Deformed feet are usually a result of a congenital defect and can also appear on hands as well. Doctors attribute such deformities to sperm or germs.
