Getting a glimpse of the historical times has always fascinated people and much of that interest makes us want to know more about the people that walked on the land decades ago. The features of people of various countries don’t really change drastically over the years, but a lot of other factors make the appearance of people change with changing times. Today, we are going to take you to a trip down the decades and show you how the young people of the previous century looked like.
These are some of the images which were often used on the postcards. The image on the left dates back to 1908, while the right one was published on a postcard in 1911 with the caption, “Jeunes Femmes de Bou-Saâda.”

The image on the left is of two sisters named, Gertrude and Ursula Falke and it was taken in 1906. It was often believed that Ursula, the girl on the right was the most beautiful girl of Germany at that time. The girls were daughters of a famous German poet and author named, Gustav Falke.

The lady here seen in traditional attire is from Nepal and this picture was clicked in 1905 to be published on a postcard. On the right side you are watching a group of Chinese girls in school uniforms of the 1920s.

The young beautiful girl seen here is from Kensington, London and her photograph was snapped while she was on her way to school. The children seen here merrily going together to the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park, London were clicked for this photograph in the 1920s. They were probably going for fishing according to some sources.

These young girls having a fun time on the beach were snapped at around 1900. The story behind the second photograph is quite remarkable as it is one of the first color photographs taken of Ireland. Two French women, Madeleine Mignon-Alba and Marguerite Mespoulet took many pictures in 1913 and this is one of those, having a young 14-year-old girl dressed in traditional clothes as the main subject.

The strikingly beautiful girls seen here are from the Russian Empire. The boys in the other picture are students from the pre-revolutionary Russia. In those times, education was received only by the children of the intelligentsia, the industrialists and the nobility and the dress looked like a military uniform.

The photograph of a French girl playing her Mandolin comes in the category of cabinet photos. On the right side, you can see a young Rene Lacoste, the future tennis player who would become the founder of the Lacoste brand.

The photograph of the girl with the Mandolin was clicked in 1911. On the right side, you can see two Albanian girls in traditional dresses. In this picture clicked in 1923, we get a glimpse of the younger days of Mother Teresa, who is the girl on the left side.

Relaxing on a balcony are three Maiko girls. The two boys seen here are students from a school in Fukuoka. This was the first place that introduced sailor-style uniform for school children.

The single man seen in this photograph is a Greek Partisan, named Konstantinos Mourikis in his uniform. The second picture, having a group of young people is from the Maria Christodoulou School and it was clicked in 1901. Maria Christodoulou studied to become a teacher and she is present in this photo too. Can you see the girl comfortably reclining in the center of the photo? Well, she is the confident woman who unlike her classmates was looking directly at the camera when this moment was being captured.

The young boy seen here is 1 of the 4 children of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The portrait of Prince Ernst of Hohenberg was created in 1910s. And in the other photograph, we get a glimpse of the royalty from Luxembourg- Princess Antonia, who later became the crown princess of Bavaria.

The photograph with the woman was created sometime in 1882 and it has a Tamil Indian woman as the subject. On the right side, we see a young boy dressed up in some type of a uniform.

You would be surprised to know that the young boy seen here is none other than Walt Disney, who was just a 16-year-old boy when this photograph was clicked. The girl is a young beautiful member of the Kiowa tribe of the Native Americans.

This time we have the royalty from Belgium for you in this picture. On the left hand side is the portrait of the young Crown Prince of Belgium, Prince Leopold, and the other portrait is of his sister, Princess Louise, who later became the Queen of Italy.
