You might be totally unsatisfied with your job and your salary also might not make sense to you. But do you know there are jobs which are so bad and repulsive that they can never really be evaluated with money? Because no money is worth the hassle.

For instance would you ever take up a job as an odour tester? How about a sewer cleaner? There are people who take up unbelievable jobs at quite meagre salaries. If you ask us they are the ones who deserve to rant. Presenting the worst jobs in the world.

1Cat food tester

Their job is to test out the quality and hygiene of cat food. And if you say it isn't that bad hear us out. They have to sniff the vat food to make sure it has not gone bad. Make sure they don't include any unseemly particles. They are also required to spread them out and actually manually check if it's the right combination.

2A grass watcher?

What if we tell you that you'll be paid just to plant grass and watch them grow? You'd say the boredom would kill you. But there exists a job where somebody does exactly this. A woman named Helen Southall works in Lincoln's British Seed Houses and her job is to plant grass, keep a count and a monitoring of each grass blade to see how much they've grown.

3Portable toilet cleaners

If you've ever met a toilet cleaner you'd see that they are not very fond of their jobs. For obvious reasons. But you know what's worse than cleaning toilets? Cleaning portable toilets which are often overflowing. Also known as port-a-potties, these are the toilets you find when you're outside at a festival or at a line somewhere. These men are just handled a tank and a vacuum and we'd guess each if them even have to clean more than one toilet.

4Stable cleaners

How do stables get dirty? A bit of dirt a but of dust and a while lot of horse poop. So the person who cleans a stable really only has one job. To keep the stable clean which of course involves dealing with horse feces. Since stables are rarely cleaner everyday horse poop usually piles up and stable cleaners have to shovel a huge amount of horse poop and we can't say the job has any upsides. Besides getting somebody else's stable clean.

Ever wonder about how janitors must hate their jobs? Now think of a Sperm bank janitor. Who knows that he has to clean up somebody else's Sperm from the floor. The funny thing is most janitors can floors without even checking what they're cleaning. It could be dust it could be done spilt sauce. It could be ink. But Sperm bank janitors know what they are up for the minute they turn up.

Often referred to as animal masturbator this job is nothing like you're imagining. People are often employed to collect animal sperm for research purposes. This involves examination of animal genitalia. Hundreds of people around the world are employed in this jobs and it's albeit an important task. But one can't say it's the ideal option for anybody looking to get employed.

7The embalmer

You probably know what they do already. They deal with corpses and they have a whole lot of stuff to deal with. For instance, they have to arrange and fix the hair and makeup of the dead bodies so that they are fit for public viewing. They are responsible of draining the corpse of bodily fluids and set up the corpses with preservatives which will keep the body fresh.

8Crocodile trainer

We think we found the worst job of the lot. Crocodile trainers do exactly what you think they do. Their job is to risk their lives and make crocodiles listen to their instructions, so essentially they have to make untrained crocodiles behave themselves. Which means most of the times no one has trained the crocodile before them and they just might have been brought in from the wild. And the job is not even well-paid. There are crocodile trainers in Asia who only get around four pounds for their jobs.

Ever thought about how sensitive their jobs are, as they are responsible to keep the crime scene uncorrupted? They are responsible for actually recording the details and then clean them up. They have to clean up a number of things, whatever is involved in the crime scene from blood to bodily fluids. They also have to keep and eye out for anything unusual they find as it would help with the investigation.

10Roadkill remover

This is not something you’d want to do, if you’re an animal-lover. Locating and removing animal corpses cannot be healthy for you. There are some people whose jobs are to actually go looking for roadkills around the city. They also discover smashed animal corpses and remove them and dispose of them, and it’s pretty depressing for a job option.

11Buckingham Palace guards

We bet you’ve seen them on TV, and their job is the toughest of all. They cannot smile, laugh or display any expressions at all. Sometimes, tourists go out of their way to make them laugh with funny antics, but the guards have to make sure that they never even break into a smile, which of course takes a huge amount of self control. Also, the guards are often punished with extra duties or other consequences if they break protocol.

12Brazil mosquito researcher

These scientists basically give themselves up for science. They not only voluntarily get trapped in a net with mosquitoes, they let the mosquitoes feed off their skin, knowing the consequences full well. You’d think these jobs are very high paid, but that’s actually not true since the research is part of a bigger project.

13How it works?

Usually, mosquitoes are trapped inside a net with the researcher so that they can be observed up close. The researcher offers up her or his leg so that the mosquito feeds, and then they observe the insect and also collect its samples to be studied later.

Pharmaceutical companies often employ people to test out smells, which includes bodily odours. Yes, this includes people smelling other people’s armpits, breaths and even their farts, which helps in making soaps and perfumes. But you gotta admit, it’s pretty gross.

15Manual sewer cleaner

Most developed countries use machine to clear out their drains and sewers, but some underdeveloped countries actually employ people on low wages to go into sewers to clean them out. Not only are these the worst jobs in the world, but the pay is downright exploitatory.
