What would you do if you see a 33 feet long Anaconda? Obviously you would run for your life. However construction workers in Brazil were lucky enough to encounter the world’s largest snake which was dead.

Is this really the world’s largest snake? In one of the latest discoveries construction workers in Brazil found a massive 33ft anaconda in a construction site. The fantastic gigantic anaconda was discovered after an explosion ripped through a cave blown up for construction of the Belo Monte Dam in Altamira, Brazil.

1 So large it had to be hoisted on a crane

The most unfortunate aspect of the discovery was that the snake was found dead, killed most probably by the explosion which is a total shame as it would have been incredible for wildlife experts to gain such a significantly large reptile.

According to the workmen present, the anaconda measured 33 feet in length. That’s 10 meters. The dead reptile which had yellow markings on its body was hoisted on a crane to be moved away an action being criticized by animal lovers worldwide. However, the move could have been a practical one as there is no feasible way of moving a 400 kg anaconda by hand.

2 The snake was even captured on video

In the video footage filmed by construction workers, the snake’s head was shown to measure 1 meter in diameter. According to the Guinness book of world records, the world’s largest snake alive is in captivity is Medusa in Kansas City USA. Medusa measures 25 ft 2 inches in length.

Incidentally the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Dam in Brazil on completion will be the world’s fourth largest dam after the Three Gorges Dam in China. Watch the video of the episode.
