Susuphan the world’s hairiest girl has extremely thick and dense hair growth on her face, ears, arms, legs and back. Regardless of undergoing laser treatment, it was not enough to stop the hair growth. When she was young, she was helpless and wasn’t inclined to remove the hair that grew faster than she could cut it. As a result, her face was always covered in hair.

For most women, unwanted body hair can be an alarming issue. It is the same with men too who now prefer clean shaven chests as compared to the hairy chest look of perhaps two decades ago. This is why the cosmetic industry is full of hair removers but in spite of this, hair is a natural growth which we can’t really do without. It serves its purpose as a natural evolutionary cushion against friction and skin abrasion. However some people like Susuphan have been unfortunate to suffer from the genetic condition of Ambras syndrome that ahs their whole body covered in hair.

Susuphan wasn’t really bothered by the remarks like “werewolf’ and “Chewbacca” because she says she always had a lot of friends in school who made her feel special. Speaking to Guinness she said “I don’t feel any different to anyone else, and I’ve got lots of friends at school… Being hairy makes me special.”
