In November 2015, Charlotte then 19 found that she had gained a bit of weight, 3 pounds to be precise. She also felt a bit fatigued and tired which she blamed on her constant partying. But this wasn’t the start of her pregnancy because these symptoms manifested in the last stages of it. This is a photo of when she was six months pregnant.

One month later in December, Charlotte woke up with severe stomach pain. Even medicine didn’t relieve it. She ran to the toilet thinking she may be sick as she started feeling nauseous. Instead, she found her underwear soaked with blood. This gave her a huge fright. The nausea instead of occurring in the first stage of pregnancy was showing up now when it was time for labor.

Charlotte then didn’t bother to think or call anyone. She immediately caught a cab and rushed to the hospital. Charlotte was admitted as an emergency case to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital where she was given an ultrasound. It was then that she heard the news that most probably shocked and amazed her. Perhaps those words would be an understatement for any woman finding out she is pregnant, she may have been speechless for a few minutes and dumbfounded too.

Charlotte panicked upon hearing the news. After all, which woman would be prepared to hear something like that? She had made no preparations, had not baby clothes and neither had she been given the medication schedule required in pregnancy. But that was it!! The moment had arrived.
