Research with celery found that it reduced fat buildup in the liver. The study at Helwan University in Egypt observed an experiment on rats fed with celery, barley and chicory that showed an improvement in enzyme function in liver that suggested people with liver disease could benefit a lot by including celery in their diet.

Celery stimulates urine production and fights bacterial infection in the urinary tract, reproductive organs and bladder. It acts the same way as cranberries benefit UTI problems by preventing UTI infections, kidney problems, and bladder disorders.
