1Cabbages and Condoms, Thailand

This eatery brings together two very essential lifestyle choices - vegetarianism and the practice of safe intercourse as suggested by the name. This Bangkok restaurant gives you condoms at the end of each meal. The eatery also has their staff, especially the waiters wear condoms on their heads to promote the cause of safe intercourse.

2Modern Toilet Restaurant Taiwan

Perhaps the most unique toilet-themed restaurant in the world. You might ask why we need a toilet restaurant at all but they obviously making good money off of it. This eatery has everything in the shape of a toilet. Even toilet seats toilet-shaped utensils. They even bring you your drinks in toilet mugs to complete the experience.

3Snow Village, Finland

This hotel may qualify as a man-made wonder. The Finnish hotel comprises of a whole expansive village made of ice, and guests can dine and hang out in a frozen ice palace in LED lighting. Every year, 20 million kilos of snow and 350 000 kilos of clear natural ice are used to establish the set-up. It consists in a Snow Restaurant, an Ice-Bar and Snow Chapel.

4Ancient Ram Inn, England

Known as Britain’s most haunted bed and breakfasts, this cozy-looking inn has a terrible history. Paranormal activities are quite often recorded in this inn. A few times guests were so scared by what they were experiencing that they jumped out of the windows. It is supposedly built on an ancient pagan burial site which also saw a lot of child sacrifices.

5Heart Attack Grill, Nevada

Perhaps the unhealthiest restaurants ever. This Nevada hamburger joint is known for its high-calorie meals - food so rich in oil and fat that it will make you sick, or worse give you a cardiac arrest. The spokesperson of the restaurant died in 2011 at 29. The eatery has garnered a lot of bad press and controversies over the years, as people hugely believe that they promote obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle. It’s also famous for its bypass burger, which is a four patty burger with cheese.

6Cat Cafe, Japan

Though pet cafes are nothing new, this Cat Cafe is famous for its guests who happen to be all cats. But it is not all-pets only, and it is actually inclusive. Human customers are also entertained here and they can eat their meals while surrounded by cats - not just their own pets, but other pets too.

7Intercourse-themed restaurant

China really has the weirdest hotels of them all. Taiwan’s first intercourse-themed restaurant, where the owners bring together the joys of food and coitus. Dine with a blow-up doll or drink out of a funny breast cup or other funny shaped objects. This Spanish cafe had an unusual tagline. Every meal in this cafe was accompanied with a literal earth-shattering earthquake. The cafe would tremble at random points throughout the day simulating an earthquake. The cafe actually made quite a5 as it was a terrible hazard to all its customers.

A total Times Square attraction, this restaurant might just be out of the world. The space-themed restaurant is inspired by space travel and was actually America’s biggest theme restaurant when it opened doors in 1998. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed in 2012.

11Ninja New York, New York

If you are a fan if anime or kung-fu movies, head on out here. Dine in the midst of Feudal Japan as a trained staff of acrobats serve and wait on you and your family. They not only hang from ropes from the ceilings but will also give you a feel of 15th century Japan.

12O.NOIR, Canada

This is the kind of restaurants they make films about. Canada’s O Noir restaurant serves its guests in total blindness and they have to just rely on their taste buds. For instance, they have surprise starters, which they don’t reveal until they are actually brought to you. Their Dine in the dark theme have been talked about and you might have heard it mentioned in many movies. Interestingly, when you eat in the dark your other senses are heightened and they can make the most of the delicacies, and that’s exactly what the restaurant aims for.

13Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, Maldives

The restaurant located 16 feet below sea level in Maldives is also the world’s first all-glass underwater restaurant which provides a dining experience like no other. The restaurant is supported with a transparent dome, where diners can spot exotic marine life and aquatic animals as they enjoy their meals. It also provides a 180-degree panoramic view of the breathtaking coral gardens.

Why would you go to a castle and live like a prisoner? This Italian castle will have you feeling like you’re in jail as you’ll be served by real-life inmates and you have to eat and live like a total prisoner. But it seems like such a waste, to live like an inmate in a fantastical medieval castle.

15Safe House, Milwaukee

You need to head there if you enjoy espionage. The restaurant is inspired by the world of old school espionage and spy thriller and is perhaps the most interesting joint in Milwaukee. You not only need a password to get access but also it’s very obscure and there are no branding or placards and it’s almost set up a like a spy zone.

16Grand View Topless Cafe, Maine

This semi-nude cafe featured topless waiting staff and was in some major controversy when it put up some sexist ads. It opened in 2009 but was forced to close in 2011 as the topless action was too controversial for the small American town. It was also the site of a very tragic arson and was burnt down.
