Most of us like to keep pets and the animals we choose are mostly dogs, cats, cows, fish and rabbits at the most. But, then there are some people who have the weirdest of choices when it comes to keeping a pet. Today, we are going to show you some of those very pets and their owners who were very proud to have them in their homes.
Theodore Roosevelt was on a railroad tour of the American West when a 12-year-old girl, Pearl Gorsuch gifted him a badger. Roosevelt brought it home and then gave the animal to his son, Archie. According to some people, Archie used to say that at times Josiah bit people’s legs, but never bit anyone’s face.

Pauline Wayne was a Holstein cow that lived in the White House, grazing the lawns during the years 1910-1913. Also known as ‘Miss Pauline’, she was the pet cow of the 27th US President, William Howard Taft. Interestingly, she was the last presidential cow that ever lived in the President’s House.

Billy, the pygmy hippo’s journey started when he was found as a baby by Harvey Firestone, who was a millionaire mogul at that time. Billy was found in the plains of Liberia and he looked very cute, so Harvey decided to bring him home. In a short span of time, Billy grew to be almost 600 lbs and feeding him was getting a bit too expensive even for a millionaire. So, Harvey gave Billy as a gift to the President, who very readily and happily accepted the new pet.

What reached the White House to be part of a Thanksgiving Meal actually became a pet of the Coolidge Family. They found Rebecca the Raccoon so friendly and nice that very soon, the pet became their favorite, especially of the First Lady, Grace Coolidge. Interestingly, Rebecca even attended all the events at the White House during her stay.

The King actually had a variety of pets and the list is surely going to shock you. In his lifetime, he owned a turkey named Bowtie, chickens, donkey, mynah bird, horses, a chimpanzee, a squirrel monkey, a number of dogs and a wallaby. His Australian Fans had sent him the wallaby, with which he used to hang out on the sets of ‘Jailhouse Rock.’ He later sent the wallaby to Memphis Zoo.

This picture was taken when this llama was three-years-old, in 2009. Socke the llama has been living with her owner Nicole Doepper in Germany. Socke had suffered a leg amputation in her early days owing to an injury she endured because of some other animals. She has been happily living with Nicole since her birth.

Princess was the name given to this Shetland Pony, which used to happily share meals with her owners. Her playful antics worked as a therapy for Clarissa, who had been suffering from cerebral palsy. This photograph was taken in the month of August in 2004.

In this picture, taken on 11th February, 2004, you can see the pet buffalo of Jim Sutner. Bailey D. Buffalo was raised by the Sutner family from the time when he was just a calf. They loved him a lot, which is evident from the fact that he could enter their house on a daily basis.

This picture looks very dangerous at first sight, but the reality is that the crocodile was a pet brought by this boy’s father three years prior to this moment. The boy, Wattana Thongjon effortlessly hugged his pet, Kheng and this picture was taken in 2002. The crocodile lived indoors with the family and their two pet dogs and he was given chicken in meals.

Actress Tippi Hedren had kept a lion along with her husband Noel Marshall and their daughter Melanie Griffith for some time. They were thinking that this would teach them a thing or two about lions as they were shooting a movie about the animal. Later she regretted it and said that it was a very stupid belief to risk her family’s safety and life.
