What is your thought about dolphins? Usually, you imagine dolphins to be friendly, social, and non-violent creatures that normally never attack or behave aggressively towards humans. However, this one incident has now shocked many people who thought that dolphins never seem to get angry or turn violent. In a video clip captured at Miami’s Seaquarium, one of the dolphins turned on one of its trainers during a live dolphin show. You can see the trainer being rammed by the dolphin a few times before she finally makes it to safety at the pool’s edge. So, what may have caused it to go berserk? Let’s find out by listening to the whole story.

A scary incident shocked everyone watching the dolphin performance at Miami’s Aquarium.

A terrifying incident occurred at the Flipper Dolphin Show in Miami on Saturday. A dolphin attacked a female trainer during a display at the Seaquarium. Three trainers were hosting the show, but one of them, who was floating in the middle of the pool and performing with the dolphins, became the creature’s target.

Luckily the trainer was able to escape, although she sustained injuries

According to a statement from the facility in Florida, the dolphin can be seen acting violently toward the trainer. But she luckily managed to exit the pool without being severely injured. At the same time, another member of the trainer’s team lends her a hand and quickly tends to her.

Like all creatures, Dolphins have a limit to how much they can bear

Dolphins seem to have a limit to how much they can take about being instructed what to do. During the show’s performance at Miami Seaquarium, one of the dolphins became enraged and assaulted one of its trainers, which was caught on camera.

28-year-old Alexandria Barry received the brunt of the dolphin’s rage

Alexandria Barry, a 28-year-old trainer, was floating in the pool during the Flipper Show on Saturday when the enraged dolphin turned on her. After ramming and lifting Barry out of the water and thrashing her with its tail, the dolphin, named Sundance by the Seaquarium, finally swam away. Barry immediately swam to the pool’s edge to calm herself down, where she climbed out and kneeled before being examined by medical staff.

Seaquarium officials claim that the incident was an accident

According to Seaquarium officials, there were no significant injuries to the trainer. Sundance, the dolphin, simply grew frightened after colliding with the trainer. They stated- “This was an uncomfortable interaction for both of them, and the dolphin reacted by breaking away from the routine and striking the trainer.”

A former Seaquarium veterinarian thinks the incident was not an accident.

Dr. Jenna Wallace, a veterinarian who formerly worked at Seaquarium, thinks that this occurrence was no accident. She says- “There’s no accidental collision. This is aggression. When dolphins become aggressive like this, there’s always some underlying thing. I have been told by previous veterinarians and staff that this animal had rammed another trainer in the abdomen.”

There have been previous accounts of animal aggression at Seaquarium.

Peta’s general lawyer for animal legislation Jared Goodman noted that this isn’t the first time an animal at Seaquarium turned violent. In response to the tragic incident, he commented: “Time is up for the Miami Seaquarium, where long-suffering dolphins desperately need protection and workers are at risk. PETA urges this ‘abusement’ park to end its exploitation of dolphins by getting them to sanctuaries as quickly as possible so that they’d never be used in tawdry shows again and no one else would get hurt.”

A Kentucky based photographer captured the whole ordeal on video and posted it on TikTok.

Shannon Carpenter, a Kentucky based photographer, captured the whole incident on his camera and posted it on his TikTok account. He was present there with his family to have a good time. “It looked like the dolphin rammed into the trainer,” he told WSVN. “There was a struggle, some kind of collision underwater happened. The lady on the paddleboard, she paddled out of the water pretty quick, and then the lead trainer started swimming back towards the dock, and it looked like she got ran into a couple more times,” he said.

Kids thought it was all for entertainment, but adults recognized something wasn’t right.

He explained that his kids thought it was all part of the performance and were cheering in delight. However, most adults noticed that something was off about it and were concerned. “You could tell the adults knew something was wrong,” he stated.
