After more than a year had passed after his birth, Manpreet’s parents realized that the baby had not started to walk and neither did he talk. It was then when his parents took him to many doctors and ran from pillar to post trying to find a cure for their only child. Numerous doctors were consulted and none managed to find the reason why Manpreet’s growth was stunted and why he could speak or walk. One Dr. Hemraj however said that Manpreet was a victim of deficiency of growth hormones. Majority of doctors have attributed his condition to the 10 and half month gestation period.

Manpreet has two siblings who are normal. However, Manpreet has become a sort of sibling in his village as the villagers think that this condition is a blessing from god and have started to flock to his home in order to take blessings from him. Manpreet, however has resigned to his fate, knowing that doctors are working on finding the reason behind his conditions and if and when a cure is found, he might be able to have some relief.
