After 15 month, the results were indeed remarkable when she lost half her bodyweight in a year. But the journey wasn’t complete. After losing 208 pounds, she noticed that it resulted in a big pocket of excess sagging skin. Moreover she suffered infections, muscle soreness, muscle tears and joint pains. All this took a toll on her making her mentally distressed.
Kaitlyn set up a GoFund Me page to raise money for surgery to rid her body of the excess skin. But as luck would have it, Dr. Michael Salzhauer learnt about her story and offered to do her surgery free. After Kaitlyn underwent 3 surgeries, the transformation was incredible.

She had to create a GoFundMe page to support her possibilities of getting a surgery to get rid of the excess skin. Now I feel like I’m actually living again and enjoying every day I’m blessed with. I’m always trying new things and not taking life for granted. I am no longer a bitter, envious, depressed teenager. I am a happy, smiley, outgoing girl who loves herself and life.”
