The world is not as simple as it may appear to be! Many incidents have taken place which were extraordinary in nature and were completely unexpected. Most of the times we are busy in our routine lives to such an extent that we don’t get to know what is happening around us. There are good chances that you may not know about some of the bizarre events that are one-of-a-kind in themselves.

1A caterpillar with the image of human face

A man from Washington named Robert Palmer (70) was giving water to his horse when he found a bug sitting on the trough and as he was going to crush it, he saw something unusual. Robert noticed that the caterpillar had an image of a human face on its back. He clicked it and sent to many wildlife experts for finding out the type of caterpillar. However, no reply has been received from any of them and even the caterpillar has died now.

Some are saying that the image is photoshopped but Robert completely denies the allegation. There is also a confusion regarding the image as some feel that it is Robin Williams while some say it is Edgar Allen Poe.

2A British man found Roman gold coins worth £100,000

Wesley Carrington used his new metal detector for the first time and found Roman coins worth £100,000 ($156,000) in just 20 minutes. He found them in a field at St. Albans in Hertfordshire, England. Firstly he found a spoon when he dug seven inches, then he found a halfpenny and at last, he found out 158 Roman Gold coins.

Someone getting successful in finding a treasure with such low efforts is highly impossible but Wesley is an exception.

3Ancient Egyptians were in touch with Americans even before Columbus reached America

The traces of cocoa and nicotine have been found in Egyptian mummies which suggest that the ancient Egyptians were in touch with the New World (America) and that too, 500 years before Columbus reached there. The tests were conducted at the mummy collection of Manchester Museum and on a mummy of a female priestess known as Henut Taui.

The name of the boy is James Hyatt and he was 3 years old when he discovered 500 years old gold pendant with Virgin Mary engraved on it and decorated with the Five Wounds of Christ. James was playing with his father’s metal detector when he found the pendant and it was dug out by the father-son duo.

 

5A 1000 years old remedy for eye infection recreated from Anglo-Saxon manuscript

A 1000 years old treatment for eye infections can play an important role in getting rid of antibiotic-resistant superbugs. The scientists created it based on the literature available in the Anglo-Saxon manuscript known as Bald’s Leechbook using garlic, onion and a part of cow’s stomach. They were surprised to see that it completely got rid of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, also known as MRSA.

6Birth of twin tortoises

The frequency of humans giving birth to twins is very less but a tortoise giving birth to twins is completely unexpected. This happened in a conservatory Garden State Tortoise, New Jersey, on 12th October 2015. It was found that a Western Hermann’s tortoise (T. h. hermanni) was having problems in coming out of its shell. The human intervention revealed that the egg contained twins and the larger of the two was trying to break out.

7Mount Owen Claw

Almost three decades ago, a big dinosaur like claw was discovered by a group of archaeologists who were carrying out research on Mount Owen, New Zealand, in a large cave. What was totally unexpected was the condition of the claw; it was still fleshy and had skin as if it belongs to a bird which died recently. However in reality, it was 3,300 years old well-preserved remains of a bird upland moa (Megalapteryxdidinus) which got extinct centuries ago.

8UFO shaped carved discs found in Volgograd, Russia

More than a dozen stone discs were discovered by a team in Volgograd, Russia. As per the team, the discs contain metal known as tungsten which is highly used in military applications. Usually, all the discs were within the range of one meter in diameter but one of them was about two meters in diameter. While some claim that it is the work of aliens, the archaeologists claim that these discs are man-made.

10100 million years old dinosaur bones found by a child of 4 years

Wiley, a 4-year old boy from Mansfield discovered dinosaur bones around 100 million years while he was searching for a fossil. Wiley’s father Tim Brys is a Dallas zookeeper and the father-son duo like to go on a fossil hunt on a regular basis. Now these bones are in Southern Methodist University, Dallas for further research. As per the experts, the bones belong to the group of dinosaurs known as Nodosaur.

11Trees grew in the shape of Swastika

For many decades, a formation of larch trees which was growing in shape of Swastika in Brandenburg, Germany, was not noticed by anyone. It was first noticed by an intern of a landscaping company in 1992 when he was taking aerial photographs.

Nazi symbols were found in the forests of Germany and beyond too. As per Der Spiegel, this is a horticultural emblem of hate. This design which measured 200-feet by 200-feet was surrounded by pine trees and it was visible only during the fall as the larches turn yellow and orange at that time. Some say that these were planted by the German prisoners of war while several others are of the opinion that they were planted to pay tribute to the pact made between Stalin and Hitler.

13A 1974 Ferrari Dino got stolen and founded buried in a yard of a house in Los Angeles

Rosendo Cruz of Alhambra, California, purchased a Ferrari Dino in October 1974 but it got stolen on December 7, 1974. Police complaint was filed in Rampart Division of the Los Angeles Police Department but the car was found in February 1978. It was found buried in the yard of a house in Los Angeles but nobody knows how it got there and how the thieves buried the car without anyone taking notice of it.

14Metal objects, mostly spiral-shaped dating back to 20,000 years, discovered

During the years 1991-93, some metal objects made of copper, tungsten and molybdenum, mostly spiral-shaped, were found at different sites such as near the river Narada, Kozhim and Balbanyu and also near the two smaller water bodies Vtvisty and Lapkhevozh. 15 Dancing plague of 1518

The dancing plague or dance epidemic happened in Strasbourg, Alsace, during July 1518. It is being said that around 400 people danced for days without taking rest and this continued for almost one month, resulting in the death of many because of exhaustion, heart attack or stroke. The reason for this dance epidemic has not been explained in a satisfactory manner till now.
