How many more tragic moments like this would it take man to understand that animals bleed, animals feel and animals weep over loss just like you and me.
What’s most unfortunate is that unlike the world of man, animals are not privy to technology to capture their most heart rending moments but yes once in a way something like this happens and we are made aware of how animals feel.
Indian photographer Avinash Lodhi 31, from Jabalpur in India was on site to capture that precise but very tragic moment of a mother monkey wailing in anguish over her baby that had just collapsed and lay limp in her arms. You’ll be relieved to know what happened later.
Lodhi wasn’t exactly waiting for it to happen. This is what he stated "this picture is very close to my heart because throughout my entire photography career I have never seen anything like this. "It was so quick i didn't even know what was happening when I took the picture but as soon as I confirmed the image I was silent for an hour."This moment is rare, especially with animals."
Thankfully and fortunately, which of course you will be glad to know the baby recovered and regained consciousness. However, the photo of the mother monkey wailing over her limp child is sure to go down as one of the most tragic moments in wildlife history. It could have been due to the intense heat sweeping the region where sizzling temperatures in Jabalpur have broken records of the last 21 years to an all-time high of 43 degrees Celsius.

Just two months ago another tragedy occurred when a baby monkey this time lost its mother in a road accident. Clinging to its mother, the baby monkey wailing wouldn’t let go. Ultimately it realized she wouldn’t be waking up. Eyewitnesses aggrieved at the heart breaking sight broke into tears themselves when they witnessed how the little babe rushed and hugged its mother after she had been knocked down by a speeding truck.
