The most intriguing aspect of the electrical roads are that the rails are connected to power grids. These grids are not constantly powered but only get power when there are cars running on them. Needless to say, this is a totally unique energy-saving step. The total consumption of each vehicle is actually kept in check by the setup which accounts each user or driver for their own electricity charges for driving down the electric roads.

The mind behind the project revealed that currently creating a fossil-free means of transportation and commute is of utmost priority. Not just for Sweden but for all nations, but Sweden just seems a lot closer to it.

The new electric roads reduce carbon emissions by 90 percent and it has been revealed that these roads will cost the country much less than what it takes to fund fossil fuels. The new roads are also economical and smart considering it's not a collective burden but in fact, each user is only accountable for his or her consumption.
