15 Signs That Show You're Still in Love With Your Ex

By Nenad Dojcinovski, 10 May 2018

It’s really difficult to define love. It could be simple at times, but it could be complicated as well. Some people believe in love at first sight, and other don’t. Some people are lucky enough to find their other half and stick with them till the end, and others are not so lucky.

To put it simple, love is complicated. We break up, we make up, we take breaks or we move on. Sometimes we make the right choice, and sometimes we don’t. But it’s always better to love and to be hurt than no to love at all.

What we’re going to discuss in this post are signs that you’re still in love with your ex. The thing is, breaking up with someone doesn’t mean that the love isn’t there anymore. There’s plenty of other reasons for two people to breakup, despite loving each other.

1You're Still Hopeful

This is a normal thing. Of course we’re going to hope for a reunion with someone we’ve spent time together, and someone we’ve loved. But if the feeling of hope is still there with you after weeks or months, you probably still have feelings for your ex.

2You Check Up On Their Social Media

The first thing we do when we breakup with someone is destroying every possible contact, especially social media. But if you’re not strong enough to do this and move on with your life, there still might be something on your mind that you might be afraid to confess.

3You Still Need Your Friends Support About The Breakup

Friends always play a huge part when a breakup happens. You need a shoulder to cry on, and you need them to cheer you up when you’re done with the first phase. But you need to be able to move on after a while, if of course you’re able to leave the past behind.

4You Question Your Worth

Everything was great, but all of a sudden things didn’t work out anymore between the two of you. So you start to wonder and question your qualities. Was it your fault? Were you not good enough for them? This happens when you hold yourex in such high esteem.

5You Deny And Feel Ashamed About Keeping Tabs On Them

This is one of the most painful feelings we have to deal with when things go wrong. You promised yourself that you’ll move on, but you still want to know what’s going on with their life. You don’t want to admit this, because you’ll be judged by your friends. But this is a clear indication that you still have feelings for your ex.

6You Still Replay The Good Times

This is what life is all about. We live for the good times and the positive memories. The problem here is that constantly reminiscing the good old times can stand on your way to going after new and even better times with someone else.

7You Look For People Who Share Their Characteristics

Some people simply can’t learn from mistakes. They’re clearly doing the same thing all over again, expecting a different result. It’s the same when it comes to dating. If you had a bad experience with “bad boys” try to stay away from them. Replacing one face with another with the same characteristics will not do you any good.

8You Can't See A Clear Future

We all have a difficult time after a breakup, and that’s a fact. We don’t care about the future because our emotions are a mess. But things get better with time and we get back on track. If you can’t see a clear future even after your ex moved on, it’s clear that you still have feelings for them.

9You Feel Like You Lost The Love Of Your Life

This is bigger than unresolved feelings. How would you know if he/she is the one if you haven’t dated before? This right here is a toxic state of mind. If it didn’t work out, she/he wasn’t the one. It means it wasn’t meant for you two to be together. It can be difficult, but you must go back to the pursuit of finding the love of your life.

10You’re Unsure Of Who You Are

If it was true love, if you were more than just lovers, you could end up question your identity. Because true love is all about becoming one, and finishing each other sentences. But even if you lose your other half, you can still find someone even more compatible with your personality.

12You Over Analyze The End

Every relationship ends for a reason. Instead of analyzing the end, remember the reason and simply move on.

13You Can't Help But Reach Out

The only logical reason to reach out is if you have personal stuff over and you want them back. Otherwise, it’s just a sigh of unresolved feelings.

14You Are Sensitive To Rejection Of Any Kind

Rejection hurts, regardless of your relationship status. We’re just a bit more sensitive after a breakup and we need the support of our friends. We have difficult times dealing with any form of critique, but that’s ok. This pain isn’t going to last, and you’ll eventually move on.

15You Mold Others Into Your Ex

This is bad for you and for the people around you. Make sure you get out of a relationship with a lesson, not a remorse. Change if you need to, but don’t try to mold people into your ex because that’s a huge mistake.
