The incident of the giraffe smashing a window was taken by another coupe filming what was happening. As soon as the window smashed, they too were stunned into silence. Later they wondered if the giraffe suffered injury and decided to alert the staff.
The man recording the incident told reporters ‘I recorded this; I can assure you the giraffe was perfectly fine. I honked the horn for the keepers to come over. I pointed out the giraffe and they used food as bait to get a closer look. They were happy that it wasn't hurt and let it be.”

The passengers inside did suffer a few cuts but those were minor ones that were treated with first aid. The incident has outraged many wildlife lovers worldwide wondering why the couple have to turn up the window.
What most people don’t realize is that perhaps the couple never really meant harm. Obviously, if an animal with a head as big as that pokes it through your car window coming face to face with you, one won’t really know how to react in such a situation. Perhaps they pulled up the car window out of nervousness as a spontaneous incorrect action without intentions to harm the animal. It was just an unfortunate accident.
