Parenting is not an easy task at all. It becomes doubly difficult if a person is a single parent. Handling kids and job is not an easy thing and often people neglect one or the other. However, sometimes a small act of kindness is enough for single parents to find hope and spirit to keep doing what they do.

People in this world are capable of spreading kindness in any way they can. It can be through a big deed like donations of thousands of dollars, or through a simple gesture such as what happened with Suzanne Maughan, a single mother of two children.

1 The single mother

Suzanne Maughan is a single mother taking care of a son and a daughter on her own. She recently took her daughter Hayley to IHOP for a breakfast of pancakes. Meanwhile their order arrived, Suzanne Maughan and a lady near her table Mary started talking about raising kids and hardships of lives. Mary was sitting alone and Suzanne Maughan had started a conversation with Mary in order to give her some company. When Suzanne’s food arrived, she started cutting her daughter’s pancakes for her to eat and Mary noticed it. Mary said, “You must have the best mom in the whole world. Never forget how amazing she is.”

Suzanne said,” Throughout the meal, we would have little conversations but mostly, she seemed to just be observing my relationship with my daughter and smiling at us.” After sometime, Mary stoop up and said her goodbyes to Suzanne and left the IHOP with a smile. When Suzanne asked for her bill, she got a massive surprise waiting for her with her bill.

2 The dinner and the note

Suzanne and Mary had a sweet conversation with each other during their meals when Suzanne had taken her daughter Hayley for a breakfast at IHOP. Mary left before Suzanne finished her breakfast. After Suzanne asked for her bill, she received a bug surprise along with her bill. It was revealed that Mary had already paid Suzanne’s bill of $19. She had also left a sweet note,” Thank you for sharing your mother day and daughter day with me. Mary,” on the bill for Suzanne.

Suzanne shared the image of the note on the bill and the image has since gone viral. “Mary doesn't know I'm a single mother of two," Maughan wrote. "She doesn't know how difficult this week has been for me. She doesn't know my anxieties and insecurities and how much I pray to not feel so lonely."

Suzanne later thanked Mary for making a difference in her life with her sweet gesture.
