In a nutshell, this theory suggests that Carl is telling the story of "The Walking Dead" as an old man so that all events we've seen are nothing more than a series of flashbacks. And no matter how wild this theory might seem to be, it would explain a couple of things. It would explain why Carl has survived this long despite all the crazy stuff he has been through and also why Rick is presented as such a fierce hero. On top of that, some eagle-eyed fans noticed that Carl scenes are more detailed than the ones featuring other characters. But in our opinion, this theory is too much of a stretch, and it is the least likely to come true.

The fact that Rick survived the zombie outbreak despite being in the coma is one of the biggest mysteries in "The Walking Dead." So fans have come up with the theory that Rick is actually immune to the virus because he is already infected. Of course, not in the same way as the others who turn into Walkers when they die, but in the way that allowed him to maintain some of the traits they possess. But in our opinion, this theory is far too complicated to be a real thing. So we guess that the writers will come up with a little bit simpler, but still very exciting solution to end the show as massive as "The Walking Dead."

While this theory seems plausible and will actually represent a very logical way to end the show, there is a downside to it. Because for this theory to be proven, someone born after the apocalypse would have to die, and the most likely candidate is nonother than Judith. Also, there is another weakness. If you are caught up with "The Walking Dead" Season 8, you now that Judith won't die anytime soon because we see her as a young girl in a flash forward.

Despite being anti-climactic given the narrative "The Walking Dead" has followed over the course of the years, this theory is actually rather popular amongst the fans. It suggests that Rick and the group will get tired of fighting zombies so they will find an island to inhabit and that's where they will settle down to live happily ever after. But in our opinion, this idea seems too peaceful, so there's no way that the show will end this way.
