Susana Zamos and her groom Zovany had always dreamed of a beautiful destination wedding. Susana Zamos was highly obsessed with mermaids since she was a kid. She also loved water. Therefore, they decided to get married in the waters of the Caribbean Sea. They finally chose Cozumel off the coast of Mexico to get married. They also found a photographers company in Del Sol photography, who were ready to photograph the event in the water. “The idea of having a whole wedding ceremony in the water was incredible. I could imagine the amazing visuals," said the principal photographer Sol Tamargo. "When do you get to photograph a wedding in the ocean, with a surf board and an altar?”

One the D-Day, 100 guests along with Susana and Zovany were transported to the El Cielo sandbar for the ceremony. The vicar was brought on a special boat to the event. Susana said, "Ever since I first got in the water, at the age of three or four years old, I loved the water and felt like I could breathe under water, thus the love of mermaids. I use one tank on a two-tank dive; the scuba instructors say I must have a gill, or weird lungs. I do think I'm a mermaid. I'm happy in the water than on land, a true "fish out of sea". You might not have seen it in the shoot, but I was uncomfortable in the dress.".

The photographers had a tough task ahead of them and they were ready to tackle any and all obstacles that may occur during the wedding. Susana and Zovany were supposed to be carried in middle of the water on surfboards, along with the vicar and some groomsmen and bridesmaids.
On the D-Day, a team of eight people including photographers, videographers and drone operators who had to battle high winds - to capture the ceremony. Susana had a total of 6 wedding dresses- five traditional and one for the ‘trash the dress’ photoshoot. The photographers employed two cameramen to shoot underwater and a drone operated from high grounds to capture the wedding. The couple took their oaths and exchanged the rings underwater.

Thankfully, both Susana and Zovany have quite the lungs capacity to hold their breath underwater, while the vicar and other guests had scuba suits on them.
