Everything comes to an end – while this might be the way our nature works, we hate that it happens to relationships as well. Love stories too often come to a sad end. What starts as a cute fairy tale has a probability of ending as a “not-so-happily ever after”; however, when it happens to our dearly admired and widely loved Hollywood couples, it hurts. Here we take a look at all those break-ups that somewhere broke us up too:
A few years ago, we hadn’t even got over Tom Cruise jumping-over-the-couch celebrating his love to Katie Holmes, and in 2012 we came to know that the relationship is over. Katie took a long time speaking about it while Tom forcefully posed indifferent, despite having a daughter with the ex-flame. Only recently Katie attempted to get over the past and almost consoled the fans of their memorable relationship. In a People magazine interview, she pushes everything to past, “I don't want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am. I don't want that to be what I'm known as. I was an actor before, an actor during, and an actor now."

“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating,” Chris Pratt announced it through Facebook on one fine Sunday, “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.” And God, that was not a great Sunday for the fans of their adorable love story. Their love story that began on set during 2007, is finally finished. Both took it quite decently for now, still in communication, with no public outrage. However, there are speculations as to why the much-in-love couple called it quits, some people blame it to Pratt’s closeness with J-Law, while others believe as the couples themselves said-they wanted different things from life! Well, we just wanted Chris and Anna for life, bummer!

A similar fate had come to Bruce Willis and Demi Moore long back in 2000. Seemingly the couple was mature and handled it pretty neatly. How casually their daughter Rumer Willis could take it, will perhaps come to us someday when she will open up. Demi, however, admitted that it was the toughest thing ever for her, oops… their daughter.

When Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt had announced the end of their five-year-long marriage in 2005, it was a great shock for Hollywood fans. In public image, they were clearly made for each other. Brad's not-so-secret intimacy with Angelina Jolie was blamed for this and it mostly gained a sympathy for Jennifer, who was clearly so devastated that it affected her career seriously. Jennifer later moved on and is now at a happy place in her life, but, for quite a long time the actress was off the radar for emotional involvement. Brad, however, caught up with his rumored reason for the spat, and well, Karma caught up with him on that!

And this is why they say that what goes around comes around. Brad and Angelina became the most admired Hollywood couple of our times, perhaps even for all time. The Grand success of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith was credited largely to the perfect chemistry between the two. Also, the humanitarian works of “Brangelina”, as the world called them, made us believe fairy tales do come true. Brad and Angelina weren’t married for a long time, however, the two actors along with their six children seemed to be living happily. And that story too came to an end that left the fans stunned. The split was announced recently. Both partners maintained their grace in public. However, neither the press nor the fans were able to contain it pretty easily to forget and move ahead. In a long row of speculation firstly Brad’s affairs with various Hollywood divas and fashion icons were rumored, and finally, a cracking event, when a drunken Brad misbehaved with a child of theirs, was expressed by Angelina Jolie to be the final nail in their already due separation. That grand separation still holds the crown for biggest Hollywood breakup of the recent era. It has become a legend, almost. Gothic character of this breakup is perhaps also due to the fact that both are still not involved that vibrantly in different relationships. Who knows if we can find another Brad-story that make us forget of Brangelina like Brad and Aniston are now a talk of the past. Maybe!

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy were together for some time. They began their saga somewhere during 2005. And in April 6, 2010, they revealed their split through Twitter. In an earlier era and in a different year, it could be a great news for most Hollywood publications and Jim Carry fans, but at the positioning of time, it didn’t create much of wave.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Nina Agdal is a recent name in the splits. It came in May 2017, and it came as decently as any split ever could come. Both remained cool, still in communication, with no public outrage, and softly declaring that it’s just that the relationship had run its course.

Some of those relationships are clearly meant to be short-lived. Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris separated in June 2011 while recently in December 2010 they had joined as a couple. It never seemed they will last long. When they had been joining each other, some other celebrity couples were announcing splits, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson announced they were splitting in Dec. 2010. And after four years, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens also did the same in 2010.

End of an 18-month marriage between Mena Suvari and Simone Sestito was an attentive issue among teenagers. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony finished their partnership recently leaving JeLo fans stunned again, but not to their big surprise. 2010 seemed to be a year of breaking marriages. Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar too had a split by the end of the year.

Most Hollywood relationships fall too short to be anywhere near long-lasting. The phenomenon can be attributed to their vanity, their lifestyle, their working schedule or just the Hollywood culture. There are expert theories and fan theories, but this never seems to stop as Hollywood somehow is a place of rising and falling relationships. Ironical, won’t you agree?Beyond all the cheesy chick flicks and rom coms, this is an ugly truth that the Hollywood actors know well of. Hollywood doesn’t seem to give much to the idea of together- ever-after or ‘forever and for always’. Many seemingly perfect couples, deemed inseparable and made for each other by fans, like that of Shania Twain and Robert Lang, could got separated after long relationships. In Shania’s case, it was 14 years of super successful marriage that truly broke some hearts - indeed, many hearts. And in Hollywood life, that goes on as a frequent pattern.
